About us

Leaf Porcelain began in Hobart, Tasmania, and developed as an independent handmade brand during its founder’s years of study at UTAS. Life on the island offered constant inspiration through soft colours, natural textures, and the gentle rhythm of everyday moments. Short videos, lifestyle posts, and little scenes captured during daily walks gradually shaped our brand’s aesthetic direction.

The early stages involved many rounds of trial and refinement. For instance, the first packaging string selected wasn’t the right fit, making adjustments necessary for each order. These experiences helped clarify our studio’s direction. Once more suitable materials were introduced, the colours, textures, and overall presentation became more unified, soft, and aligned with the warmth our brand wished to express.

Blending East Asian softness with Western minimal elegance, our brand aims to bring a gentle handcrafted aesthetic to Tasmania and beyond. Each piece—whether a handmade soap or a customised badge—is created slowly and intentionally, with attention to colour harmony, tactile comfort, and thoughtful handcrafted details. Although a small studio, our team remains committed to sincerity, professionalism, and warm, careful craftsmanship, ensuring that every customer receives a comforting and enjoyable experience.

Our brand is shaped by a set of values that guide every piece from concept to completion. At the heart of our practice is a dedication to soft colour gradients, gentle transitions, and a distinctly personal aesthetic that merges Tasmania’s natural landscape with subtle East Asian influences. Inspirations such as auroras, coastal light, and seasonal colours quietly inform each collection.

Every product is created with a strong commitment to safety and comfort. Materials are sourced from reputable Australian soap-base suppliers to ensure skin-friendly formulas, while hand-carved elements are refined as smoothly as possible. Packaging is kept clean, cohesive, and thoughtful, reflecting the care behind each item.

Rather than offering only a handmade object, our brand hopes to create a moment of warmth. Customers often describe the experience as receiving a gentle, personalised gift — a blend of healing colours, soft textures, and scents crafted uniquely for each order. Each piece is meant to feel comforting, considered, and quietly special — suitable for gifting, cherishing, and collecting.

Our studio focuses on handcrafted melt-and-pour soaps and customised badges, offered in different finishes such as glossy and plush surfaces. In the future, more cold-process soaps and laser-engraved designs will gradually be introduced to offer refined options.

Every item aims to feel like a small keepsake — something with character rather than mass production. Colours vary softly from batch to batch, styles remain limited in quantity, and customers may choose shades, finishes, and personalised details. Each order feels like a small creative project shaped together with the customer.

The overall aesthetic stays gentle, clean, and naturally inspired — the kind of small object that feels like it was picked from Tasmania’s colours or from quiet everyday moments. The crafting pace is slow and intentional, maintaining our studio’s preference for careful work and thoughtful presentation.

A gentle, personalised little gift — just right for yourself and the people you care about.

At our studio, every product is an invitation to participate — to create something personal, meaningful, and truly your own. Whether choosing colour combinations or designing a customised gift, customers are encouraged to express their imagination and share that creativity with the people they love.

Consistency and responsibility form another part of our values. Orders are delivered with steady quality and reliable timelines, and sustainability remains central to our process. Besides, leftover trimmings are reused, repurposed, or shared — small choices made out of respect for materials and the environment.

Above all, our brand is built on sincerity. We aim to listen, understand, and communicate with the same honesty we hope to receive. Our long-term hope is simple: to be a gentle presence in everyday life — small, comforting objects that accompany routines, spark curiosity, inspire creativity, and bring a touch of sunlight to ordinary days.

Looking ahead, our studio will continue growing slowly and thoughtfully, introducing more handcrafted pieces. Cold-process soaps, seasonal releases, and expanded badge styles will be added over time. Our brand also plans to join more local markets, offering personalised services where customers can co-create colours, scents, or gift designs.

Our future direction centres on deeper sensory and creative experiences:
more natural scent profiles, more refined gift packaging, and more opportunities for customers to participate in design.
We hope to become a small but recognisable gift label in Tasmania, remembered for gentle style and thoughtful craftsmanship.

At its heart, our studio aims to help each customer express their own aesthetic and creativity, while gradually building an independent brand known for warmth and sincerity. Our goal is not mass production, but meaningful creation — pieces people keep, gift, and remember. The brand will continue honouring handmade work, independent aesthetics, and long-lasting quality, hoping to be known in Tasmania as a name of quiet beauty and heartfelt detail.
